Arc Raiders' developers are "aware", right now, of matchmaking problems. Embark Studios "is investigating"

There will always be issues with maintaining games like Arc Raiders. Unfortunately some of these problems are in the matchmaking system right now. Embark Studios knows about these issues, and a hotfix will be released soon.
Ossen Julia announced as much on the Arc Raiders Discord server. Julia writes, "We're aware of matchmaking errors that are occurring again for some users." Our team is investigating, and we will provide updates as soon we can.

There is no specific information about the problem, but Twitter users have reported that the wait times for matches are currently longer than normal. "The last few days, there have been waits of two to three minutes for a match," one user reports. "10 minute wait times and matches that only I was in at least two occasions now," tweets another user.
The queue times are not long, but it's more insulting for a title that has been so smooth in getting players to matches since its release in late Oct. "I'll give it two to three minutes and then back out. I re-queue." A second poster also stated that they assumed the same thing, namely "because I get queued up for 'friendly' lobby areas."
Even though people have tweeted that re-queuing seems to solve the issue, it is still a frustrating inconvenience and takes up precious time you could be using to play the game. Arc Raiders, which was released a month and half ago, has received a positive reception. But these players can go to another game. Thankfully Embark is working on it, and the remedies should be available in no time.
Embark Studios will continue to work on Arc Raiders until the players show interest in it.
Arc Raiders has been a breakout hit for 2025. It's difficult to imagine a game that will be more popular than the award-winning and record-breaking Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Embark Studios’ newest shooter game has overshadowed holiday season discussions in a time when Battlefield had its best game in years, and Call of Duty... released a brand new game. Arc Raiders was awarded the Best Multiplayer award at The Game Awards, cementing its position at the top.
Robert Sammelin explains to PC Gamer in an interview that the studio is working on a "10 year plan" and "our aim is to keep this title alive for as long as we can." It is a "live game."
"We want it to be alive as long possible, so long as people are having fun with it."
Sammelin continued, "I believe games like these will evolve based on the community's behaviours, and feedback," then explained the importance of picking out what the players are engaging with, as well as keeping it fresh, by throwing in "things that sort of affords new challenges and possibilities within the gameplay."
If you were worried that Arc Raiders might suffer the same fate as many multiplayer games of the live-service age (RIP Rumbleverse - you were real), then I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Sammelin said, "I'm sure there are many different routes we could take. The time will tell if we dig in." But we have a fairly long-standing plan for where we'd like to go."
