Diablo 2 bows are the most useful ranged attacking weapon hanging around. They fire quickly in the hands of an Amazon and derive their bonus damage out of your points in Dexterity. Amazons possess a bow & crossbow tree, but other characters could be effective together as well, especially Druids and Necromancers, who can take cover behind their minions and shoot from the distance. Necros and Druids often become less useful with bows because they advance in levels since their Dexterity isn’t high enough, plus they don’t have skills to enhance their bow attacks.
Bows aren't as committed to Diablo II: every character can wield one and do moderately well by using it. However, the Amazon is the greatest, having a faster firing rate, and excellent Attack Rating, not to mention, her bow & crossbow Skill Tab, too as useful passive skills for example Critical Strike, Penetrate, and Pierce.
The main advantage of a bow is the fact that it supplies a ranged attack that doesn’t require constant mana expenditure, and can’t be resisted. Successfully striking the target is dependent on your to/hit (called Attack Rating in Diablo II) as well as their armor class (called Defense in Diablo II.) Another added wrinkle is the fact that monsters with shields can block, instead of just carrying them for decoration.
Monsters are fast and also have variety within their AI, and stun-lock isn’t very easy to obtain, therefore it shouldn’t be as simple to line up your enemies and fill them filled with arrows from the distance. The full 360-degree movement system makes shots easier when monsters are arriving in a straight line at you.
There are magical and unique bows. The magical and Rare bows boast a lot of modifiers. The Unique Bows and Unique Crossbows are extremely tasty. Like all weapons, bows and crossbows could be socketed with gems, to include magic harm to every shot.
Ammunition is needed for every shot. You must possess a quiver equipped in a single hand, while your bow or crossbow is incorporated in the other. Quivers are often dropped by monsters, and sold by NPCs for affordable prices, so keeping enough arrows or bolts around isn’t a genuine problem to have an Amazon.
Bows, not crossbows, will also be usable through the Act I Rogue mercenaries, who don’t need a quiver of arrows for their function.
Sockets: Item sockets changed a great deal in D2 v1.08, changing to complement the sockets in D2X items. You will often find more sockets in items on higher difficulty levels.
Damage Bonus: This determines the way you multiply the product damage because of your stats to achieve the actual damage. Every 100 points for the reason that stat doubles your weapon’s total physical damage. All Bows are 100 Dex, meaning every point in Dex adds 1% of the weapon’s total physical damage, thus every 100 points in Dex will double your bow damage.
Item Level: Used in many in-game calculations. Monsters should be of this level to drop the product, as well as your Clvl should be equal to or more to have that item agreed to gamble on.
Weapon Speed: A relative comparison of 1 bow to a different one. 0 may be the base, negative ( -10, -20, etc) is faster, and 10, 20, etc is slower. The “fast”, “normal” etc displayed hanging around is a very imprecise measurement. The numbers would be the exact speeds used. Each 10 is the same as a normal SIAS item. Characters are abbreviated for their first letter: Am = Amazon and As = Assassin.
